Projects Aims Objectives
Deepen Dialogue and Cooperation on OSH
The Safety@Work project has been brought to life to deepen the dialogue and cooperation between the EU and China in the area of occupational safety and health (OSH). China’s unprecedented industrialisation and role in the global economy has implications on OSH policies within the country and beyond. Being able to better understand and compare the Chinese OSH policies with those of the EU can significantly benefit both sides by contributing to better policymaking
Key Objectives
The Safety@Work project aims at developing a bespoke methodology for collecting data on the performance of EU and Chinese OSH systems, build capacities to operationalise it, and promote the framework as a building block for evidence-based OSH policymaking. Three key objectives underpin and enable the project’s overarching aim. These are described below.
Objective 1

Understand and harmonise
The first objective is to understand how OSH data is collected in the EU and China and propose a harmonised approach (methodology) for OSH data collection.
Objective 2

Validate and build capacities
The second project objective is to test and validate the proposed approach (methodology) in the field and build capacities among Chinese enterprises to operationalise it.
Objective 3

Disseminate & Promote Results
The third and final project objective is to promote the project results among Chinese stakeholders as a building block for evidence-based social policymaking.
