Project Plan
OVERVIEW
The Safety@Work activities are centred around four steps and along two development work streams. Work stream one focuses on Occupational Safety and is led by DGUV and the Chinese Information Institute of the Ministry of Emergency Management (IIEM). Work stream two is focused on Occupational Health and is led by DGUV and the Chinese National Institute for Occupational Health and Poison Control (NIOHP).
STEP 01: Status Quo Mapping
In Step 1, the partners will perform mapping exercises of the OSH systems in the EU and China.
The results of these mappings will be collated. Identified ‘best practices’ will then be disseminated.
STEP 02: Methodology Development
In Step 2, Chinese pilot regions participating in the Occupational Safety work stream will be defined and a methodology for capturing and analysing occupational safety data will be developed. The methodology will be based on existing the ⧉ European Statistics of Accidents at Work (ESAW).
A similar approach will be followed in the Occupational Health work stream, although these activities will be naturally focused on defining methods for analysing occupational health.
STEP 03: Implementation
In Step 3, a broad pilot programme in selected Chinese regions will be rolled out, focusing on selecting and training local enterprises and authorities on the implementation of the methodology that was developed in the previous step.
The methodology will be validated by capturing real-life Occupational Safety data from the regions. In parallel, in the Occupational Health work stream, the existing datasets will be analysed to validate the methodology developed in the previous step.
STEP 04: Stocktaking & Results Dissemination
In Step 4, the project’s findings and results will be widely disseminated, hereby ensuring the EU-funded project’s visibility across various stakeholder groups in both China and the EU.
It is envisaged to organise a large conference in China to promote the results, but also disseminate the latter across various channels.
